Arrowsmith Gold is launching a new UVic HIA Course: Special Topics and Global Experiences in Health Impact Assessment

Arrowsmith Gold is pleased to share that our new course with the University of Victoria, HPPD 900: Special Topics and Global Experiences in Health Impact Assessment, will launch at the end of February 2027. The course builds on the foundations of HIA and looks at how it is being applied in different settings around the world.

HPPD 900 brings together an exciting group of HIA practitioners and researchers from Canada and internationally, each sharing work they have led on the ground. Topics include HIA in conflict zones, climate change and health, institutionalizing HIA in public policy, mitigation and enhancement, working with Indigenous communities, and many more! Students will learn directly from people who are shaping the field, through real case studies, current tools and the practical lessons that come from doing this work.

The course is delivered online and designed for practitioners, policy makers, students and anyone interested in how HIA can protect and improve health. It is an innovative course that connects theory with practice and offers a rare chance to hear from leaders in HIA across many settings in one place.
